Dandong is located in the frontier of Northeast of China, at the Northwest bank of Yalu River in the Southeast of Liaoning Province. Dandong Economy:
In the year of 2004, the total output produced by agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery sector was 8 billion Yuan, 9.1% higher than that of the previous year, among which 3.08 billion Yuan was from agriculture, 520 million Yuan from forestry, 1.8 billion Yuan from animal husbandry, 2.38 billion Yuan from fishery and 220 million was brought by the service sector. The yield of local aquatic products amounted to 356.6 thousand tons, 15.6% higher than that of the previous year. In the year of 2004, 6750 hectares of rural areas were afforested with 36.07million trees. The forest coverage rate of the whole city reached 65.9%.
