Zhougong's Temple
The Zhougong Temple is situated at the South foot of the phoenix mountain, 7.5Km away from the North--West Qishan county , Shaanxi province. "It's said in 'Chinese Poetry' that a mythical bird called phoenix sang some beautiful songs at the summit of the mountain". The three sides of the east, North and West of the Zhougong Temple are surtounded with mountains in picturesque. It's given a vivid description in the past as follows: "there is a 'hollow place', the breeze springs up and comes in from the direction of the south. " Hence, this is called "hollow place", actually, it means "Quan Wo" in Chinese. It's recorded in Chinese history:" Zhou wen King made a tour of this place 30 years ago, under the regime of Zhou Dynasty, Thus, this place is a famous scenic spot for the tourists all over the world, At the beginning of the year of Tang Wu Dai regime (AD618),to commemorate a politician, Zhougong Ji-dan who helped Wu Wang (Ji--fa)to ovethrow the Shang Dynasty reign and found the Zhou Dynasty and also assisted Chen Wang (the youngest)to put down the rebellion and ensure the country stable peace. The Zhougong Temple was built up in this hollow place where Zhougong King formulated feudal ethical code, rites which were used to inspire and educate the common people at that time. Later periods, the Zhougong Temple had been renovated and enlarged in succession by the Dynasties of Yuan, Ming and Qing. On one hand, taking the three Zhougong Temples as main structure, (Zhougong, Shaogong and Taigong), the buildings had been erected in successive years, A great number of pavilions, platforms, tevraces and towers have Aprung up, embelling with a group of ancient buildings which look more beautiful than anything else. On the other hand, while constructing Jiang Yuan Hou Ji temple subsidiary. The whole magnificent structure was built according to the ground level and natural surroundings, the layout is symmetry. The temple is grand and Sublime, the pavilions and towers are exquisite, ingenious and delicate. Chen-tian, senior statesman of Kumintang government, had a nice villa built up during the Anti-Japanese war. There are 30 memorial stone tablets, stelae; lots of old trees planted in Tang Dynasty, the emperor Xuan Zong gave a name to the limpid spring "Ren Fa"; the mineral spring water so clear that you can see the bottom, the taste of the mineral spring water is delicate fragrance like sweet wine. The Zhougong Temple is one of the Bao ji's regions of attractive scenery, In Xuan Wu cave, there's a stone carving statue named Jade Emperor, Who gave his hair pull, with no helmet covering; wearing martial attire; stepped on a soft-shelled turtle; standing straight with a asward in hand. The structure of stone statue is well-developed; full of power and qrandeur. The rocks of the mountain and carving statue are superb craftsmanship excelling nature, the carving statue can help the patients to get rid of diseases, if they want to touch it slightly. The Zhougong Temple has a long history, it is solemn and respectful, surrounded by small streams, the mineral spring waterflower, the old shadowy trees are emeral green, the fait of Zhougong Temple begins to he held in the middle of march of lunar calendar every year. It's a traveling place for pleasure and enjoying holidays. In ancient time, the landscape of Zhougong Temple was much appreciated by great poets, such as Han-Yu, Su-Shi and Kang Hai who all went sight-seeing of this place, heaving a deep sigh of relief.
The Ancient Architectural Complex at the Town God's Temple
Located on East Street in the Fufeng County seat, the temple is one of the best-preserved architectural complex from the Ming Dynasty in Guanzhong Plain. Ancient buildings at the temple include a theater, the Bell Tower, the Drum Tower, the main entrance, a wooden archway, and side halls. These pillar and beam structures, each with an ingenious design, embody the superb architectural techiques of the Ming Dynasty.
Jiang Ziya Fishing Terrace
Jiang ziya Diaoyu(Fishing)Terrace, located in Tianwang Town, Baoji County, lies between the Qinling Mountains and the Weihe River, covering an area of about 200 square kilometers . It is 150 kilometres away from xi'an and 30 kms from Baoji City.It has transport facilities, with its second tourist highway joined to the xi'an-Baoji Expressway and the Southern xi'an -Baoji Highway.
Jiang Ziya Fishing Terrace is famous both at home and abroad for its rich humane historic sites. The well-known stores "Jiang Ziya Fishing " and "King Zhou Visiting the Worthy "took place here. The imposing temples built in the Han Dynasty and prospered in the Tang Dynasty are around mountains and by streams. The stone named Diamond is as big as a hill. The deep-set kneeprints made by Jiang are still clear, as is called the first fishing terrace in China. The 4 cypresses planted in the Tang each are so big that three men can just get their arms around. Enjoying all this can train your character and enrich your knowledge of history.
This fishing terrace also has many natural sceneries. Range and range of mountains are covered with thick pinetrees and cypresses ,with many streams going at foot .Especially the Panxi Gorge winds its way for over 10 kilometers. Strange stones can be seen everywhere and bridges are across it. Plank rods built along the face of a cliff are hung overhead . Therefore, it is famous for being strange, precipitous, peaceful and graceful. A top of one mountain looks like a stone carving for Jiang Ziya, standing straight, facing north , dressed in a Taoist robe, carrying books on back, and wearing a long beard. An image of a great politician and millitary scientist is absolutely lifelike What a wonderful sight!
The Fishing Terrace Reservoir has wavy and clean water covering a surface of 200,0000 square meters. What fun it is sailing here ! It is more interesting than doing that in the Three Gorges of the Changjiang River.
